STATEMENT OF FAITH

Below is the statement of faith Flash Theology operates with…

THE BIBLE IS TRUTH

We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, trustworthy and true, without error, Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

THE DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY

We believe there is only one God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

We believe God the Father wants to be in a relationship with us, but because of sin we are not able to be in relationship with God. So, God sent Jesus. Jesus lived a perfect life on earth, took our sins upon Himself, died on the cross, conquering sin and death’s hold on us, and miraculously rose to eternal resurrection life. Because Jesus died for us, we can be a part of God’s family for eternity.

John 1:1; Matthew 1:18,25; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 9:15-22; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 9:27-28

ABOUT HOLY SPIRIT

We believe when you surrender your life to Christ, God sends His Holy Spirit to guide and direct you. Holy Spirit brings love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Holy Spirit can also release His power to preach and communicate and use the Believer as a vessel to perform miraculous signs and wonders throughout the earth.

John 14:15-26; Acts 2:17; Ephesians 1:13-14 ;Luke 4:14; Galatians 5:22-23

ETERNAL LIFE

We believe in eternal life for believers and eternal punishment for unbelievers. By believing in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, we get to be with the Lord forever. If we die before His return we will be with Him in heaven. The return of Jesus will bring about the end of history and the glorious new beginning–the new creation–where resurrected believers will live in a resurrected cosmos with the Lord forever. This is the ultimate hope of eternal life.

Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15; Romans 8:18–26; Revelation 21:1–22:5

ABOUT THE CHURCH

We believe the local church should be composed of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers who are called to equip and empower the Church body to bring people to Christ and to influence culture. We also believe that the Church is a community of believers that God uses to bring Divine solutions, creativity, love, healing, encouragement, miracles, and growth to humanity.

Ephesians 4:11-16; John 1:12-13; Acts 1:8; Galatians 3:28; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, 1 Corinthians 12:28

ABOUT YOU

We believe that God created all human beings in His image and that all life is sacred and valuable. We also believe that you have talents and God-given abilities that can be used to glorify and enjoy God. Your creative expression can be an act of worship towards the Ultimate Creator.

Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10

THE GIFTS

We believe in the operation and manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and that they are still active today. We also place a high value on accountability and being relationally appropriate in the use of these gifts.

Romans 12:6–81; 1 Corinthians 12:8–11; 1 Corinthians 12:28; 1 Peter 4:10–11

ABOUT SANCTIFICATION

We believe we should always be pursuing holiness, not by striving, but by settling into His presence. Sanctification is often an internal process that involves taking action when prompted by Holy Spirit. It’s a lifestyle of building up patterns and habits of reaching towards Christ.

Romans 12:1-2

NOTE FROM BRAYDEN & JENNY

We are big proponents of biblical theology and allow our commitment to the sacred text to supersede any tradition, preference, or cultural trend that tries to dictate our dogma or doctrine. We are a male and female team, and we believe the Church best images God in leadership when it is led with both male and female voices and leaders. Our conviction is that Holy Spirit still acts in similar ways as in the apostolic age with regards to spiritual gifts and missional empowerment. We collaborate with a variety of Church denominations, blessing each of them–working alongside them as the body of Christ–while maintaining distinct views of Scriptural interpretation that may differ from them with regards to the fine points of theology, ecclesiology, and eschatology. Our ministry partnerships maintain unity among the core essentials such as the doctrine of the Trinity; the death and resurrection of Jesus; the centrality of Christ as the only Lord and Savior, and the second coming of Christ to bring about the resurrection of the dead.
